Sydney & John - Coral Pink Sand Dunes Elopement

Sydney and John had originally planned to elope to Scotland in an abandoned castle. We all are aware of what happened in 2020 which made it impossible and unsafe to travel for their plan A. I was invited by Stephanie Jade Photography to be a second photographer to shoot their elopement.

They drove all the way with their little pup from Brooklyn, NY to the middle of nowhere Northern Arizona/Southern Utah to elope. They came here a few years prior and decided to stay in the same Airbnb they did previously. They scouted their location and we met them right before the ceremony.

The ceremony was perfect, it was the officiant and us two photographers as their witnesses. Afterwards they popped the bubbly to celebrate and we ate cupcakes (I’m a sucker for cupcakes).

After we all signed the marriage certificate we headed down the road and played in the sand of the Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park.

A little bit about John & Sydney, they met while they were both in graduate school at the Pratt Institute. They were both studying Art History and Library Science. It was so fun to see how much Sydney lit up about Renaissance Art! I know nothing but her knowledge and love were extensive. We even took photos that resembled some of her favorite art pieces. She looked like a true Renaissance Goddess! Her dress and hair piece were INCREDIBLE.
